Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any other questions - send me a message!

What is Aud's Bakes and where is it located?

Aud's Bakes is home-based bakery currently located in Lafayette, IN.

How does ordering work?

Start by filling out my order form on this website or sending an email to audsbakesbusiness@gmail.com

How long will it take you to get back with me?

I do my best to respond within 3 days but occasionally it may be a little longer since I work full-time Monday through Friday!

Do you offer Vegan/Gluten-free/Dairy-free/etc. dietary options?

I currently only offer gluten-free options for cakes and cookies!!

Do you ship?

Unfortunately due to Indiana State Cottage Laws I cannot ship any of my goods since I operate out of a home-based kitchen!

Do you deliver?

I am able to deliver locally to Lafayette, IN area and (date dependent)  to Batesville, IN. Other delivery locations will warrant a delivery fee based on travel mileage.

How soon should I reach out to you with an order?

I recommend contacting me at LEAST 3-4 weeks ahead of your event

How long will a cake last?

At room temperature, a cake will last about 1-2 days (though I recommend covering if cut to keep it from drying out). In the fridge, a cake will last 5-6 days. In both cases, I recommend pressing a piece of plastic wrap against any cut cakes when stored. If frozen, cakes will last for several months to over a year when stored correctly! (Wrapped to keep sealed)

How long will sugar cookies last?

Unsealed sugar cookies will remain good for 2-3 days after pickup. They will be safe to eat for several days after this but the taste and texture will start to deteriorate. Cookies can also be wrapped and frozen for several months. The icing is water-based though so be careful when you thaw your cookie out! Heat-sealed cookies will remain fresh for about 7 days after purchase.

I can heat seal your order for an additional cost if you're planning on needing them up to a week ahead of time!

Do you do weddings?

Yes! I love to cater weddings - although since I'm a home-based baker and do not bake out of a certified/commercial kitchen (aka I am not inspected by the Indiana Department of Health as Commercial Kitchens require) be sure to check whether your venue requires the use of a certified bakery.

What is a "cake contract?"

This is a document that I use to keep both of us on the same page! It outlines your needs and wants and designs as well as payment stipulations and other "small print" details. Since weddings typically involve such large, time-consuming, and costly orders - this protects both me and you!.
